I have a ‘96 Subaru Legacy on which Gateway has repaired various issues which would have been twice the price at a dealership. Thorough inspections and estimates are provided and discussed. I religiously took car into dealership for 20 years but on recommendation by a relative I gave Gateway a shot. I wish I hadn’t waited so long. Thank you, Team Gateway.

I can not say enough great things about Gateway! My battery died out tulip looking. We pulled into Gateway after getting a jump about 12:15. They had held someone from lunch to run diagnostics on my car. I did need a new battery. They installed it and we were on our way before 1pm. I might make the trip to Mt. Vernon just to have Gateway service my car. Thanks Gateway team!

People are accommodating and honest. Their repair guy accidentally broke one of my car’s part and they honestly told me about. Thank goodness or else I’ll owe them half a grand more. I will definitely come back here if needed help on my car in the future. Thank you

Took my truck in for an alignment which they weren’t able to perform. So I ended up paying $114 dollars for an inspection. No problem with that, it’s a project truck that I was probably too eager to get aligned. What was frustrating was their automated communications. I received 8 messages in the 3 days from booking my appointment to the day of. Their $100 inspection wasn’t that thorough, considering they didn’t even list the trim correctly in their report despite taking a picture of the vin. Which running the vin tells you that. On top of the fact that tone of the notes seemed condescending and used excessive punctuation. Took pictures of everything but the thing they said made it unable to perform the alignment. And all of it took 4 hours. So it was neither fast, cheap, nor good. Really seemed like they didn’t want to work on my truck because I changed out the front suspension parts at home, and wanted them do an alignment. Which that’s their right, but I wish they would have saved me the time and just told me that up front.

Huge shoutout to the team at Gateway Auto! Took my car in a couple weeks ago for brake work, and though the news wasn't good (repairs-worth-more-than-car situation), the service was excellent. In terms of costs as well, even though it was a lot, I think the quotes they gave were more than fair considering the kind of work the car needed (this was confirmed for me by my father, a lifelong but now retired mechanic). I declined the repairs and chose to find myself a newer and more reliable ride, but I will definitely be returning to Gateway Auto for all my routine maintenance and checkups. Jeff was great, knew who I was from my appointment when I walked in, and had one of his crew (Brennan or Brendan, so sorry I can't remember which, I'm terrible with names, but he was great too) give me a ride to and from my house, which was a luxury I have not experienced from my past mechanics. I also want to say, their online and text services are top notch; I made my appointment online through their great booking portal, and then received a full breakdown of the repairs and costs with photos of the issues, which I could either accept or decline right there on my phone. I have had a lot of bad experiences with mechanics in the past so there was already that twinge of anxiety in me, and then learning my car was beyond repair (or at least, repair that I could afford) had me totally freaking out, but these guys made what would've otherwise been a total nightmare feel like a top-notch service experience. 10/10, would recommend, will be back soon myself to have them give my new ride a checkup!
