Never had my transmission fixed before so I have nothing to compare it to but it was satisfactory. Rob from Gateway Transmissions, I believe was the owner's son, was very attentive. There was no waiting involved. During the diagnostics, the owner spent time with me and drove my car around so we could figure out what the problem was. It was a very hands-on experience.

After having service done at many shops in Sedro-Woolley I'm confident in saying that Vollans has been my best mechanic experience in Skagit County. The service manager, Tim, is the best service manager I've encountered at any auto shop anywhere. I've observed the technicians getting along really well and in positive, happy spirits during all of my visits. I've noticed that Chris, the owner, is well-liked and respected by his customers. The prices are very fair. The estimates are fair and realistic, not padded. The shop is clean. The service is friendly. The location is super convenient, right on Metcalf. Thank goodness, I finally found "my" auto shop.

Gateway Transmissions did a really good job taking care of my transmission and getting everything back together there. I was out of town when they found another problem, so they couldn't get my OK to fix it. I did appreciate that they didn't add a bunch to my bill without talking to me about it. When I picked it up, it wasn't running quite right. They told me the computer had to readjust to the changes. I was a little concerned about that only because I would think they'd take a test drive after fixing things. Other than that, everything was great.

Gateway Transmissions ended up changing out the entire gearbox inside my transmission.They really took the time to let me know what was going on. They were very thorough with everything, and I appreciated how they kept me informed.

The Gateway Transmission store in Oak Harbor is the only place in town I TRUST to have work done on my vehicle. I appreciate the integrity in their work and the no B.S. upfront honesty and more than excellent customer service. I have been a customer of this shop for years and will be for many more years to come!

I used Gateway Transmissions for the first time, and so far so good! They rebuilt a transmission for me, and they also replaced a water pump and timing belt. I would recommend them!

Gateway Transmissions provides a variety of service other than just transmission work. I have used them before, but most recently, I used them to do a full inspection of a new vehicle that I purchased. I purchased my car and wanted an inspection the next day. I called Bill in the morning and told him what I needed, and he was able to fit me that day. This was on a Saturday, too, which was very convenient for me. I brought my car and waited there for the report. If anything, it took a bit a longer than I expected, but at least they were able to accommodate my schedule, and that's important. In the end, they provided me with a full report of the condition of my car. Depending on what you bring your car in for, they should be able to create a complete report of what they find for you. They always do a very thorough service.
